More about Martin and the team →I still remember how it felt to buy our first home: the uncertainty, the questions and the tension of that first big financial step. I use that experience every day to guide clients through their mortgage and the purchase of their home with confidence.
For most of my working life I was on the Amsterdam options exchange, where I learned how financial markets and risk really work. Later I built up years of experience in mortgage advice at Hypotheek Shop Tilburg and Hypotheek Visie Tilburg. There I saw up close what clients need, and where things could be done even better.
That experience was the reason to start Belderbrandt: an independent practice with the freedom to advise what truly suits you. We compare mortgages from nearly every Dutch lender and look beyond the interest rate alone. In doing so, we take into account your situation, your plans and the choices that come with them.

What you can expect from us
Direct contact
You can call, message, or email us directly. We pick up the phone ourselves, and we answer your messages ourselves.
We work with both Dutch and international clients. Many expats we help entirely in English, so that as a newcomer to the Netherlands you understand exactly which choices you are making and how the Dutch mortgage process works.
Support from start to finish
Buying a home is about more than arranging a mortgage. We support you throughout the entire process: from the first introductory meeting we think along about your options, the search for a home, the bidding and everything up to the notary.
We know Tilburg
We know the housing market in Reeshof, Oud-Noord, Piushaven and Bomenbuurt. Together with local estate agents and valuers, we make sure you're well prepared.
Independent mortgage advice
We compare mortgages from nearly every Dutch lender. That means we don't advise what is best for one bank, but which mortgage best suits your personal situation.
Financing statement
Once it's clear how much you can borrow, we draw up a financing statement. This puts you in a stronger position when making an offer on a home.
You choose the location
At your home, at the office, or via Teams. Whatever works best for you.
Buying your first home in Tilburg
Buying a first home is a big step. How much can you borrow? Do you have enough savings? What if there are multiple offers? We guide you through it step by step, in plain English, so you know exactly where you stand.
As a first-time buyer, you may be eligible for the municipal Starter Loan. We check whether you qualify and explain what it means for your situation.
